CHIP covers uninsured kids up to age 19 in Pennsylvania. It doesn’t matter why your kids

don’t have health coverage right now; CHIP may be able to help. Most kids receive CHIP

for free. Others can get the same benefits at a low cost.

Bullying & Cyber Bullying

Bullying by students of students is prohibited in the school setting.


  1. Directed at another student or students;
  2. Which occurs in a school setting. “School setting” shall mean in the school, on school
  3. grounds, in school vehicles, at a designated bus stop, going to and from school or at any activity sponsored, supervised or sanctioned by the school;
  4. That is severe, persistent or pervasive; and hat has the effect of doing any of the following:
  1. substantially interfering with a student’s education; or
  2. creating a threatening environment in the school setting for any specific student or
  3. groups of students; or  substantially disrupting the orderly operation of the school


Students are encouraged to report incidents of bullying to school officials. Students shall report incidents of bullying to the building administrator(s) in each school.  Refer to Student Policy 5153.5 - Bullying/CyberBullying

Mandated Child Abuse Reporting (Act 126)

All employees of the North East School District (in accordance with PA School Code) are required (by December 2016) to have obtained three hours of Act 126 training.

Employees are provided this opportunity through Safe Schools Training website.

The Board is committed to protecting the health, safety and welfare of its students and school community. This policy supports federal, state and local efforts to provide education on youth suicide awareness and prevention; establish methods of prevention, intervention, and response to suicide or suicide attempt; and to promote access to suicide awareness and prevention resources.
