The hours of operation for North East Intermediate Elementary (NEIE) are 8:15 – 3:30 each school
day. Students may enter the building at 8:15 at the north pool doors or the east library doors.
Students will be directed to the cafeteria if they will be eating breakfast or to the gymnasium. Adult
supervision is provided in both areas at this time. The first bell rings at 8:30 to signal student release
to homerooms for morning introduction. Classes begin at 8:45. All students who arrive to school after
8:45 are considered tardy and must report to the office for a classroom pass. Dismissal procedures at
NEIE begin at 3:30 and are completed by approximately 3:45 each day.
Car‐rider dismissal begins promptly at 3:30 in the north pool parking lot. Please be sure to have your name card with you when picking up a student.
Bus dismissal begins promptly at 3:30 with all students being released from their classroom as the buses are called upon arriving to school. This dismissal procedure occurs in the south parking lot.
Walker dismissal occurs at 3:40. Students are escorted through the east library doors and taken to the southeast corner of campus.
All entrances and doors to the school are locked throughout the day. If you are visiting the school during operational hours, please report to the north pool doors, ring the buzzer, and wait to be let in to the building. You must report directly to the front office.
The absentee phone number for NEIE is (814)725‐8671 x3129. An automated recording will play and
you may leave your child’s name, homeroom number, and the reason for the absence. If your
son/daughter will be out for an extended period of time (3 or more days), please contact the NEIE
office to make arrangements for schoolwork to be collected. If going on vacation, please be sure to fill
out the appropriate vacation request documentation.
Parental excuses are accepted through the first twelve (12) absences in a school year. Student absences beyond twelve (12) will require a doctor’s excuse in order to be recorded as an excused absence. All excuses are required to be submitted within three days upon a student returning to school in accordance with PA compulsory attendance laws.
