Our students at NEIE are maturing quickly and are discovering how to be more responsible learners
while staying focused on completing both class work and homework on a daily basis. They are also
making every effort to treat others with respect, including their teachers, staff, and other students throughout the school.
Each child will be encouraged to earn the title of “Kid On The Go” each quarter of the school year by
GETTING the job done, making GREAT efforts each and every day, and by GOING through each school day demonstrating responsible and respectful actions.
At the end of each quarter, students will have the opportunity to celebrate their success as a “Kid On The Go” by attending a special field trip. Every student must understand that these field trips are earned and require consistently good behavior and work completion.
The following criteria indicate the meaning of a child earning the title of “Kid On The Go”:
It is expected that a child have no more than five separate days with missing homework and/or a demonstration of poor work attitude in the classroom.
It is expected that a student display no more than three minor misbehavior conducts or disrespectful behaviors directed at another student or staff member.
A serious problem such as hitting or bullying may result in immediate ineligibility for the quarterly celebration. We appreciate working collaboratively with parents to help instill quality work habits and model appropriate behavioral choices for the students we work with each school year.
In addition to exiting lessons in the classroom, Intermediate Students get to experience a number of positive learning experiences through the “Kids on the Go” field trips.
Throughout the school year students are able to participate in a number of fun activities. Special field trips include: Peek n’ Peak Tubing extravaganza, Splash Lagoon, and North East Bowling Lanes.
